    I tried a magnesium anode; it didn't work. I had to replace the element. It is now sealed with a low viscosity silicone. No issues thus far.

    where, I am the water is very soft, almost no traces of magnesium or calcium. So I guess your water acts as an sacrificial anode and protects the element. Do you have very hard water? Thanks for the quick reply!

    First time starting up

    Is there a checklist for running for the first time? GIFI, 40 A & 240V, BCS 460, Setup based on Kal's design For the trial run I was only going to run one heating element.

    Ashton: I think that would work but I already have my relays bought and wired. They are all normally open. I'd like stuff to fail open if I can help it. Ischiavo: The pump did come with a plug, but I'm planning to have it feed off my enclosure power. So I can switch it on and off.
