I was just thinking the other day that maybe someone should fork brewpi since the arduino is really not being supported anymore. Seems like it'll become more and more necessary as time goes on.
Hey day_trippr, I was just wondering what the dimensions of those enclosures are and where you got them? I've been looking to get a new enclosure and I really like the look of yours.
Yeah the breakout board I linked to has a level shifter built in so you can just wire 5V straight into it. If you're not using the breakout board, you'll need to bring it down to 3.3V.

This is an awesome project. I think I'm going to order one of these (http://www.adafruit.com/product/2471) esp8266 breakout boards. Comes with a built in voltage regulator. I could get a voltage regulator and wire it up myself but I'm lazy.

That shelf is what cools the entire fridge, so you won't be able to just take it out. You can very carefully straighten it out, making sure you don't kink the coolant lines.
