My kit came with the same wand y'all mentioned. So tilt the bottle is a no go? I'm not against the wand just didn't want to futz with extra steps if unneeded.
In a week or so my first bottling experience will happen. I've read lots about bottle wands and siphons and tubing length etc. I have a bottle bucket with spigot. Why can't I skip the wand and tube and just put the bottle right up against the spigot? I would tilt the bottle and let beer run...
I'm a total noob so forgive my ignorance. But what's wrong with buying already distilled water from the convenience store? Is it not as good? I can get a gallon for 50 cents. Honest question....that where I get my wort water
Thanks gonefishing, my goofs were related to my rapid wort cooling(faster than expected which threw me off), pitching temp at 75 instead of mid 60s, crappy oxi wash included with kit (not enough to go around) and autosiphon I broke misuse. Redoing the same brew actually isn't a bad idea. It...

Seeking advice for a good second beer. Im probably getting a kit...

However, as you are boiling wort, you may need to adjust you stove...
Im only doing 4 weeks because thats what the instructions said. ;)
Actually, they said 1-2 primary and if no secondary, then plus 2 more. Maybe I'll bottle at week three then.
I've read tons of threads on how to build and use a swamp cooler. My first brew is fermenting nicely in one now. I'm using the frozen water bottle trick twice a day. Keeping swamp water between 60 and 66 degrees. Big swings, I know. But I can only swap bottles twice a day and my closet...
So my Harris Teeter starting stocking innis and gunn in pick-6 for $10. Too good a deal to pass up. Normally $11 for 4 bottles.
Anyone know of An easy clone (or similar) for a brand new brewer? Doesn't need to match exactly. I found some all grain recipes. But they looked hard. I'm brand...
