    Tip bottle during fill

My kit came with the same wand y'all mentioned. So tilt the bottle is a no go? I'm not against the wand just didn't want to futz with extra steps if unneeded.

    Tip bottle during fill

In a week or so my first bottling experience will happen. I've read lots about bottle wands and siphons and tubing length etc. I have a bottle bucket with spigot. Why can't I skip the wand and tube and just put the bottle right up against the spigot? I would tilt the bottle and let beer run...

Does anyone have a water distiller they use for their brew water...

I'm a total noob so forgive my ignorance. But what's wrong with buying already distilled water from the convenience store? Is it not as good? I can get a gallon for 50 cents. Honest question....that where I get my wort water

Need idea on next beer for new brewer--extract only

Thanks gonefishing, my goofs were related to my rapid wort cooling(faster than expected which threw me off), pitching temp at 75 instead of mid 60s, crappy oxi wash included with kit (not enough to go around) and autosiphon I broke misuse. Redoing the same brew actually isn't a bad idea. It...

Need idea on next beer for new brewer--extract only

I wasn't sure where to put this thread. My first beer is going to bottle soon so I'm looking for my second kit. First was goose island milk porter with specialty grains. It wasn't super hard but I goofed up in lots of places. Seeking advice for a good second beer. Im probably getting a kit...

Swamp cooler--when can I STOP the water bottle shuffle?

I'm excited to see how it comes out. I pitched too high but have maintained ferment temp in the sixties consistently.

    Boil Temperature in Extract Brewing

Boiling water is boiling water.....it happens a 212 degrees (sea level). will vary depending on your elevation. Unless someone corrects me, I see no need to be paying attention to the actual temp. You can't boil "too hot." However, as you are boiling wort, you may need to adjust you stove...

Swamp cooler--when can I STOP the water bottle shuffle?

Im only doing 4 weeks because thats what the instructions said. ;) Actually, they said 1-2 primary and if no secondary, then plus 2 more. Maybe I'll bottle at week three then.

Swamp cooler--when can I STOP the water bottle shuffle?

Oh. I'm fermenting goose island milk porter. If that matters any.

Swamp cooler--when can I STOP the water bottle shuffle?

My yeast was dry safale S-04. OG 1.06. I only have one location for fermenting and that is the closet. Ambient temp 79 average. Thus the swamp cooler.

Swamp cooler--when can I STOP the water bottle shuffle?

I've read tons of threads on how to build and use a swamp cooler. My first brew is fermenting nicely in one now. I'm using the frozen water bottle trick twice a day. Keeping swamp water between 60 and 66 degrees. Big swings, I know. But I can only swap bottles twice a day and my closet...

Innis and gunn or similar- for beginner

So my Harris Teeter starting stocking innis and gunn in pick-6 for $10. Too good a deal to pass up. Normally $11 for 4 bottles. Anyone know of An easy clone (or similar) for a brand new brewer? Doesn't need to match exactly. I found some all grain recipes. But they looked hard. I'm brand...
