    Krausen catch for spunding valve

I've been brewing under pressure almost exclusively for a couple of years now. The only one thing I was never completely happy about was that, sometimes no matter that the fermenter was under pressure, some krausen would verflow and get into the spunding valve. In addition, I'm using a Keglad...

    Bend ripple element

Yeah, I think you are right, but that means that the ground wire should be long enough to be able to screw it while the element wires are already connected. That didn't work for me because when putting the cap on, the ground wire would curl up and dangerously press the other wires around...

    Bend ripple element

To be honest, I don't know. This enclosure consists of 3 pieces, the tube with the nut for the element, the clamp, and the cap. The wires for the element end up (indirectly) attached to the tube, and the ground to the cap, what makes it a bit difficult to assemble (with the ground in the...

    Bend ripple element

I got this one 304 Stainless Heating Element Enclosure, Moonshine Still 2" Tri clamp x 1" NPS | eBay I didn't like the ground screw placement much, but otherwise it's pretty well done.

    Bend ripple element

I got it! Using a pair of vise grips I was able to slowly slide the enclosure to the bottom without damaging the element (I hope)

    Bend ripple element

Hi everyone! The (Chinese) ripple element in my system got fried when I accidentally set the pump to full blow while and got air under the basket. I took it as an opportunity to upgrade to something better. Since the element enclosures from bobby where taking forever to be in stock again, I...

BIAB basket from drilling and cutting pot bottom

Resurrecting ancient thread. I was thinking on doing something similar, since I have all materials, but I'm concerned about the space between inner and outer pots. @rshortt: Did you do this? How did it turned out?

    Crankandstein motorized super mill

Sorry to resurrect this thread to ask a noob question. Marc, is your motor torque 45 pound/inch? Is that enough to start with the mill with a full hopper? Thanks!

    Jockey box on the cheap

Around 84 dollars. 6 - SS tank 40 - taps 18 - aluminum tubes (90 feet total) 20 - fittings + hose I'm not counting the silicone, EVA and washers that I already had, but don't add much to the cost anyway.

    Jockey box on the cheap

Thank you. A wine barrel would be much nicer. You'll have to waterproof it very well though.

    Jockey box on the cheap

Sorry if this is not the right section. I didn't know if I should post it this here or in "Other". A friend of mine got married last weekend. I brew some beer for the wedding party, but I didn't have a jockey box. I thought of borrow one from another friend, but ended up building one. My...

    Gear head question

Hi. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I couldn't find much in google. I want to motorize my recently acquired grain mill (Crankandstein 3D). I got this motor for free from a friend. The motor is ok and works beautifully, the problem I have is with the gear head. With a ratio...
