    OK, gotcha. Thanks again, cheers!

Awesome. What is the little red jumper wire you added on the bottom of your Uno for?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

OK cool, thanks. The only thing is I'm just using a plain old wall wart mini usb charger for the RPi, not an actual power supply like yours. I suppose I could just cut that cord and splice in another pair of wires to go to the Uno right? I'm not super familiar with the pin out of usb but on a...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Hey Day_Tripper, I think I'm having voltage drop problems with my Uno being powered thru the usb from the R-Pi. I want to have a direct V+ from the power supply to the Uno. From what I understand, connecting a power supply to the Uno will backfeed voltage into the usb and you removed that...

understanding high pressure versus low pressure propane

I forgot to mention I would be using Natural Gas. I also want to do auto-ignition if it's not too pricey. Anyone have a parts list?

understanding high pressure versus low pressure propane

Anyone have an opinion on these?: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009JXYTG/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 They say High Pressure but I'm assuming that's just because of the orifice that comes with it. Is there really any difference between these burners and the ones BrewersHardware...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yes the software allows you to change it but then you have to use the Normally Open side of the relays and the LEDs would stay on when they "should" be off. I don't like that. The reason I was having the issue at all versus most of you guys is that I was using the shield. I finally figured...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

OK I know this is old but I did figure out my problem. I didn't realize that the shield has transistors to invert the output from the Arduino. I was going to add transistors to revert it back but then I sobered up and realized that I can just tap the relay triggers straight to pins 5 & 6...

what type of shield is that on your Arduino?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I don't see how I have it hooked up wrong. Are you saying that at idle the LEDs on the relay board should be lit?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Ya I'm just going to stick with the SainSmart but add transistors to reverse the output so the LEDs work they way I want.

SON OF A ****** I didn't notice that! Arrrgh, back to the drawing board.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I just ordered one of these 4ch SSRs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0079WI37Y/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 I wanted to add a door light to my freezer and needed another relay channel anyway lol. Thanks everyone for the help!

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I think you have that backwards. If I set the pin type to non-inverted, the shield lights are on at idle and turn off when cooling or heating. The relay lights work no matter what. Basically, I either need the BrewPi to turn on the shield lights when the + pins = GND, or I need a new relay.

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

The + and - on the relays is wired correctly. So just to be clear, here is what the outputs on the shield are doing at the various states: Pin Type Inverted, Idle: No light, - pin = -, + pin = - Pin Type Inverted, Cooling: Blue light on, - pin = -, + pin = +5V Pin Type Not-Inverted, Idle: Blue...
