Ok, many fair comments,. It is a subjective thing. I'm well acquainted with many porters in the market. In comparison this has no real finish. It's flatter at then end than any porter I've every had.
Is it the bittering hops that provides most of the hop finish?
I made a porter from an extract kit. I'm not going to name the kit maker because I don't want to sound like I am criticizing the kit when I am sure it's the brewer that was not up to snuff.
The porter has been bottled for a few weeks now (about 4 weeks) and while I enjoy it there is...
Its a chocolate stout and the type I have been waiting to brew for a while... I am glad if I did not ruin it. Vodka from now on LOL!
KapBrew,.. It didn't blow off I actually was fiddling with it ....Dohhh
Thanks everyone!
On a better note I got a freezer this weekend for free so Keezer in the...
Not that it's the first time.
I was pushing down on the lid of my fermentor (don't ask me why) and I ended up back siphoning a bit of PBW sanitizer solution that was in my airlock into the fermenting wort. Is it ruined and have I now poisoned my beer?
I would imagine its about a tablespoon...
I've just brewed up my first batch, 'Chico Pale Ale' from homebrewers.com
I kegged it immediately and have been enjoying it immensely. I've got a porter, stout and wheat already lined up.
I'm doing another batch this weekend, not sure which but probably porter or stout.
Howdy to everyone...
I just did my first batch and I went straight to corny keg. Next batch I may bottle. At a local store I spent $300 for two used kegs, new seals, tank already filled, regualor and gauge and all hoses and tap. I'm sure you could get it cheaper but I had my brew kegged 2 hours later
