I made a 3/8" copper IC, the copper is not the bright shiny stuff one normally sees. What is the proper procedure to clean the copper and make it shiny???
I left that out, I did do a 168 deg mash out prior to sparging. I do use a sparge arm (non rotating) I also use a T-Bazooka for the seperator. And as far as the crush it has been done at my LHBS not that that makes it good. I kept the sparge water 2-3 inches above the bed. If there is...
4th AG batch learned alot from the first 3. All of them had horrible efficiencies. I am able to explain them all and again I learned from the mistakes. My 4th went very well, 1 hour mash at 155. 173 deg sparge water. I fly sparged for 75 minutes. I got 6.5 gal in the BK. I used a...
I did my third AG batch this past weekend. The first was a unmitigated disaster. The second went much better and the third went pretty good. My question is this. When you use 170 deg F sparge water what is the expected temperature of the sweet liquor coming out of hte lauter tun??? Should it...
I have 8 plants all first years and this has happened to the 2 Fuggle plants. I have checked the pH and it is within normal ranges. I dug down into the soil of these two particular plants and they were holding water, poor drainage apparently. The other six did not have water in the soil just...
I have used polycarbonate tubing from McMaster p/n 9176T28 it is $10.08 for an 8' piece.
I use a 90 deg compression fitting and run the tube(cut to length) to the top. I use a s.s. eye bolt to hold it at the top.
Very simple, durable, and inexpensive. The poly tubing is good to 250 deg F
I have successfully created slants and grew the colonies and pitched them. Here's my question I made 6 slants from an original WYeast slap -pack. Now I am down to one slant, what is the proper way to make more slants with this last slant.
I am looking into using furnace valves for controlling temperature on my HLT and brew kettle. I have the temperature controllers and T/C's
Could some one recommend a pilot valve to use with the system.
Or would it be better to light the burner and use a proportinal valve to control the...
Alot of the recipes I am seeing tell you to start with 2 gallons of water, then when finished to add more cold water. If you have a big enough pot is it ok to just use 5-5.5 gallons to start??
I recently went with a buddy to a place where he brewed beer 3 weeks ago. We were there to bottle. Insert tube into bottle hit CO2 button for 5 sec. then fill bottle and cap. Just wondering where this equipment could be purchased.
