Hey everyone,
I've had this chiller and pump set up for a year or so now. It's served me well, but I'm moving and changing my rig around quite a bit. As a result, I'm looking to sell off this Therminator and Chugger pump assembly (pictured below). It's mounted to a piece of wood for easy...
I've started a group for homebrewers interested in swapping with others! Once we've got a good amount of interest, we'll set up a time and place to swap bottles with each other! Should be a great opportunity to try new things and learn from each other...
K sounds like we got 2 takers in this thread. I have friends who homebrew as well that would get in on this. I'll make a FB group in a bit and PM the link to all who are interested.
It sounds perfectly legal to me. For all intents and purposes, your customers are buying ingredients but paying you to pick it up from the store. As a bonus, they get a free case of beer! You are legally allowed to GIVE beer away.
The only flaw I see with this business model is that people love...
A whole case was just an example. Hypothetically, 7 people could each bring 6 bottles. You trade one of your 6 to each person in exchange for one of their 6 and now each person is going home with 6 new beers (one from each person, minus themselves). Get it?
It could be done with any amount of...
Any homebrewers here from Southeast Pennsylvania (Philly to Lehigh Valley area) interested in swapping homebrews? I figured I'd see if there was an interest in this.
My idea is that you would bring (for example) a case of one of your own brews and end up swapping bottles with others to take...
Thank you both for your help! I will probably take your advice and at least double the batch size. Also, the idea of mashing in a bag is brilliant! I'll definitely do that, especially considering I'm making such a small batch. Thanks again!
So I've just converted a cooler to a mash tun and plan to do my first all grain batch this weekend. I had planned on doing a 1 gallon batch of a Celebration Ale clone and just wanted to get some feedback from more experience brewers. Is there anything special I should know/expect with a 1 gallon...
I actually just used Brandon's recipe last week! This is why I figured this might be worth a shot!
And yeah, I wouldn't boil the cider. I'd probably do a boil with just a gallon of water and then fill the fermenter up to 5 gallons with the peach cider.
I have an opportunity to get some peach cider this week. Anyone have experience using cider in a recipe in place of water? Does it work? Anything I should know? Was this a stupid question?
Ok here's the new recipe:
1.5 gallons water
4 gallons apple juice (or however much I need to fill the fermenter back to 5 gal)
.5 lbs of Crystal 60L
1 oz torrified wheat
1 lb light DME
4 oz. light molasses
.5 oz hallertau hops
2 sticks cinnamon
1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg
2 oz crystalized...
