    Gelatin in Secondary

Cheers! :mug: I just did a reading on my Rose Ale and it's not quite ready to bottle yet, but it's not clear at all. It has a strong but clean smell, and tastes amazing so I'm not worried about the haziness, but everyone likes a clear ale right? So my question would be, without the ability to...

    Honey???

@BlkWater_brewer I never would have thought of that, and was actually planning on buying raw/organic honey. Thanks for the heads up and for potentially saving this brew!

    Honey???

I don't know how to delete posts, so I'll just write something else. Something else.

    Honey???

This is great, I've never used anything like it so I have some questions that maybe you can answer. The recipe calls for 8oz of honey but when I plug in the numbers homebrewdad coms out to half that. I left the target co2 at 2.5 so maybe that's low for a blonde ale? Also I think I'll get 4.5...

    Honey???

Thanks everyone, the first time I used it I did thin it down, and will definitely do that again. LHBS owner just kind of had me doubting. Should turn out awesome! Cheers!

    Honey???

Good morning Brewers! So I'll be bottling a Rose Ale this weekend (Rose Cheeked Blond Ale by Brooklyn Brew Shop) and I've brewed this before in the gallon kit I received for christmas 2013. It came out really good, and decided since I have a 5 Gallon set up that i would try it again. I did a...

    Festivus Style

I never watched Seinfeld, but it sounds like it's definitely not a style. I'll just have to find a good winter style to brew within the next couple weeks.

    Festivus Style

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice homebrew on this sat evening. I'm trying to plan my next brew day and want to do a winter style. I talked to my cousin who lives in Washington D.C. and he said he would really enjoy an Festivus style. I have not heard of this and all my google searches are...

Stuck Fermentation or good to bottle?

I do want a little more of the smokey flavor to come through, which is why i decided to try 50% smoked malt on the first go. Hindsight is always 20/20 but the beer isn't ruined and should still be drinkable. maybe i'll take the smoked malt to 4 lbs go 3lbs 2-row 2lbs dark munich and keep the...

Stuck Fermentation or good to bottle?

awesome, thanks for the input. that's probably what i would have ended up doing but it was good to hear from a more experienced source. And i do intend on changing the grain bill on the next brew. the flavor, like i said, is pretty close to what i was thinking it would be, maybe just a bit too...

Stuck Fermentation or good to bottle?

Hey Everyone, got a question. I brewed a smoked porter earlier this month and am wondering if you think I have a stuck fermentation or not. I'll admit at the end of the brew things got a little hepatic and I had to go somewhere so in the rush of things forgot to take an OG. That being said I did...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I went to a bar in a place that I grew up and asked what kind of craft beer they had and the waitress had no idea. So I just told her to bring me any IPA they had. She then asked what an IPA is and I told her an Indian Pale Ale. She then told me that they didn't have any Indian beers. I tried to...
