This is a good discussion! I was wondering this my self as I did my first all-grain last weekend. When I put my recipe into Beersmith it splits it into two sparges and for some reason I couldn't make it into just one.

I recently took a tour of my local brewery and they mentioned they use something similar to 1187 for all of their ales.

There is a local micro brew that does this and they call it Hop Syndrome. It's not bad but by no means an ipa. I would say go for it.

I brewed AHS's Old Rasputin clone and after 2 months in the bottle it's still a little green. I figure another few months and it should be tasting good. I'm sure the Yeti will too!

I just did the Rogue Oatmeal Stout Extract Kit from AHS and I believe I steeped for about 30 min. I bottled this last week so i'm excited to try it soon.

Oxy for my bottles and PBW for the carboy. They both seem to work well.
