    Old label removal?

A soak in hot water and baking soda for 30 minutes always worked for me. Except for Great Divide bottles for some reason..

    Another Possible Infection Question? (pics)

Hello, This is my fourth batch to brew and I just haven't seen this before. It just doesn't seem like white belongs in beer? On Saturday I started brewing this Dunkelweiss. By Saturday morning fermentation was raging. I had to switch from an airlock to blowoff, which is still on there. Now that...

    Cannot find a funnel!

Hey guys, I recently got two (5 and 6 gallon) glass carboys to start fermenting in. The problem is, I can't find any large food grade funnels anywhere! All I can find are oil-grade ones made from high-density polyethylene. Something like this...

    invincible red/pink stains in primary

I've only used star san. I hear that iodine leaves a brownish/orangy color. These are pale pink spots on the bottom. Anyone think I should just make this into a sanitizing bucket and grab a new one?

    invincible red/pink stains in primary

Hey guys. I have just finished up my third batch of an IPA. The primary I have been using for these three batches has some small reddish/pinkish spots only on the bottom. I have tried to get these out with a bleach solution, oxy clean, and simple green but they just wont come out. What could...

    Beer went bitter

I brewed my second batch ever, an IPA kit from the local homebrew store, and it tasted great throughout the entire brewing process. The day that i bottled the beer I drank the last bottle that didn't get completely filled. I had extremely high hopes, it seemed like a perfect beer without...

Woke up to a brown airlock!

Thank you both. In response to your questions: The airlock is filled with water. I have heard of some people using liquor? And there is probably about a 4 inch space between the liquid and the lid. 5 gallons in a 6 gallon bucket.

Woke up to a brown airlock!

Hello all, I am currently brewing my first batch of beer (as of yesterday). Everything seems to be going as planned but when i woke up this morning the airlock was sticky and brown. I have two so I sanitized the extra airlock and immedietly switched the two. Is there a problem in this...
