    Brewhemoth conicals?

I found the pressurized fermentation difficult. If it is pressurized, you have no idea how your fermentation is going or when it is complete. Additionally, if you have the fermenter somewhere near full and an active fermentation, de-pressurizing can lead to a mess. I found it more useful to...

    Brewhemoth conicals?

Maybe it is just operator error, but I am having a heck of a time getting used to the stainless fermenter over carboys. My latest problem is that my sampling valve is plugged. The pressure of the beer is not enough to push the blockage. I put a tee with a thermowell and a sampling valve on...

I wonder what the poppet valve is pushing against to keep it closed? It looks like it is just welded to the tee. I thought about adding a gas fitting to my spunding, but the poppet just pushes through when pressed in. On a corny keg, the poppet pushes against the dip tube.

Good idea. I will do that next time. Lesson learned.

    Brewhemoth conicals?

I opened it slowly. I had been banging the sides with a rubber mallet throughout fermentation. This may be a reason to use a racking arm. I put a sampling valve on a tee off the racking port and get the same out of that...yeasty beer. I will try banging on it more to see if I can loosen the...

    Brewhemoth conicals?

Just tried to dump the yeast off an IPA that has been fermenting actively and is at 1.010. Wanted to propagate more for another brew. I opened up the dump and all I got was a small amount of yeast followed by cloudy beer. where is the yeast?

Filled it to the dome weld. I think it holds 22 gal, so maybe 20 gallons? Thanks for the help.

How do you relieve pressure to dry hop with a spunding valve to dry hop? I just tried and got sprayed through the relief valve when I started to open it.

Pros: Price and selection. Cons: Ordered an incorrect part based on some mis-information on the website. Received no response to multiple emails asking for an exchange.

Are the ball lock 1/4"? I thought they were a non-standard thread.

    Brewhemoth conicals?

They make a threaded adapter that changes the ball lock threads to 1/4". http://www.chicompany.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=376_1_3_260&products_id=1844 They may make one for 1/2", but I haven't seen it. So you would have to get a 1?4" to a 1/2" reducer. Not sure how...

I buy my NPT fittings locally. They are cheaper. I was going to buy the tri-clover to NPT from Brewers Hardware. Along with the other tri-clover hardware for the fermenter.
