    I hate #!@#&*( Contractors

I have the opposite problem then most of you. I deliver to contractors and they expect us to do just about anything they want. One contracter tries to get our boom truck drivers to set steel i-beams for them(that they didnt buy from us), another wants everything carried inside, blah blah blah...

    Off flavor everytime

I used to get off flavors as well. I always developed leathery flavors when I did BIAB. Then I found out that it is called brew in a bag, not brew in a boot.

Magnet wont spin on my stirplate~help!

I built a stirplate recently and noticed that if i turn the poteniometer up to spin the fan faster that the stirbar will not move(I was using a dremel router bit as my stirbar). It was almost as if the magnet on the fan was moving too fast to even grip the stirbar. I just start with it off and...

Thermapen MK4... is it worth it?

I just bought one of them today I like the accuracy, quickness, and how it is supposed to be waterproof. I believe there is a video that shows them throwing it in a pot of water and it floats on top

Alternative uses for a stir plate

Yesterday, I built a stir plate by scavaging pieces from the basement that have been around for a while. So today for a test run I decided to mix up some chocolate milk with it. It worked pretty good. It is now offically a kitchen utensil/brewing equipment and can be left on the...

For both your 1. and 2. Check your local lumber yard for the sizes you need. I work at one and we often sell parts of osb that we will cut to size for you. The Foam insulation sheets often come in with dunage sheets on the bottom that could be free for you. We also have broken sheets that we...

    Kegging for long term storage

Im probably stepping too far into uncharted territority for me, but I was wondering if it is easily possible to age beer in a corny keg(no co2 can). I plan on getting into kegging within a year so I bought some pinlock kegs. I thought that maybe i can fill them up to age and eventually be able...

    Smoking Newbie

If you are moving outside of town where you can burn things. I saw some videos on how to make lump charcoal. It seemed pretty easy. Otherwise memorial day and 4th of July are your best times to stock up. 2-20lbs packs for 10$

    Smoking Newbie

It is best to start with a price range that you feel comfortable. There are upgrades out there that can help with the automation of smoking meat/grilling if you desire to go that route. My brother has a Daniel Boone by Green Mountain Grills (roughly $600) and makes good tasting food on it...

    Air lock question

With no brewing or sanatiation knowledge I have made alcohol(ghetto wine) with my airlock being a ballon with holes poked in it from a needle. The ballon was over the opening of a milk jug. I cleaned out the milk jug by shaking it with water, pouring it out and calling it good. I have no idea...
