Way off target gravity! Please Help

JR_Brewer, that is probably what happened, I neglected to check the amount of wort until after I took a sample. I lit up the fermenter with a flashlight to see where the liquid level was but I bet it still had foam from the aeration. Thank you very much! :mug: GrogNerd, thank you for that...

Way off target gravity! Please Help

    Cheese cloth for steeping grains???

I went out yesterday and spent 4 hours at the local homebrew supply store/ brewery soaking up information about brewing and trying some interesting brews (one was a scotch ale mixed with mead, very interesting) and I bought everything I needed for my milk stout (extract). Well everything except...

    Florida brewer!

As long as you sanitized thoroughly you should be fine. Higher gravity beers tend to have a more intense ferment. Just make sure that your temp is not too high (below 70)

    Lemon Shandy

I am making a shandy as well and i was wondering what you did and how it turned out. I saw many different takes on the method for a shandy, pour half lemonade half beer, add country time to the beer during bottling, or just add lemon flavor during bottling and add a simple syrup to your glass...
