    Man, I love Apfelwein

I had a batch of this sitting in the brew room for the last six months, and honestly forgot about it (on purpose). I finally kegged it up, let it sit for a couple weeks, and.... Wow. :drunk: The fiancee described it as a, "panty dropper", when I told her the ABV level. A bit crude (odd...

    New belgium 1554

The beer's name is explained in the thread that is referred to earlier on in this one. I'm hoping that in the time that has passed since it was first written, that someone has brewed this recipe. Would be an awesome beer to have on tap, so hopefully someone can shed some light on this. :mug:

    New belgium 1554

So, has anyone brewed this recipe since this thread was made? If so, verdict? How does it compare to the NB version? I really would like to brew a clone of this beer, and so far this has been the only clone recipe I have found. I'd like to hear some feedback before I spend the money on all...

I want to make an Imperial IPA - just not hoppy

This. Plus, it gives you a reason to brew a barley wine. :drunk:

    Oxiclean Residue

I had my first experience with this today after a week long soak to try to rid my better bottle of some particularly stubborn gunk. After reading this thread, I did a warm water/starsan soak for about ten minutes, and that did the trick. I love this forum.

Just took a sip of Anchor's 2010 Christmas Ale.

Ha! My neighbor (also a homebrewer) was over last night while I was getting my starter ready, and the conversation ended up with us both saying exactly what you have. I was floored by how good that beer is, and wondered why I had waited to try it, haha!

Rogue Mocha Porter with a Nicaraguan is always enticing.

    DIY Wort Chiller (Immersion)

The tubing will have measurements for the inside diameter, which is what you will want to look for. The copper is 3/8's, so look for the tubing that has an inside diameter of 3/8's. It'll slip right over the copper nice and snug. Make sure you tighten the hose clamps really tight, the...

    Los Angeles / Santa Maria

While in Santa Maria, I'd suggest checking out Firestone Walker's brewpub, it's close by there.

    DIY Wort Chiller (Immersion)

Well, thanks to the awesome community here and the outstanding write-ups you do, I sucessfully built my own wort chiller with my dad this weekend, right in time for brewing a Belgian Wit on Sunday! Thanks everyone, this thing works great! We did two full overlapping coils using 3/8" soft...

What would you do if your local Brewery did this to you???

I'd approach the brewery first, and voice your issues with the problem at hand. Depending on their answer and actions, you'll have a couple options. Either they realize their mistake and make it right, or they tell you to pound sand, and you take it to the media. The media loves a good battle...

Brew Pal software in the iTunes App Store

Bought the app today, and I must say, well done! Easy to use, a ton of information, and a great UI. The only thing I wish it had, is information on the various hops, such as the flavor/aroma profile. Granted, this is just my own preference, and even without that it earns an easy five stars...

    Hello from Orange County, California!

Stein Fillers is awesome! We (my buddy Shant and I) both attended their beginners class recently, and are really looking forward to their all grain class in the next few months, even though we aren't even close to that point. Great place, great people and an all around enjoyable experience...
