    lime questions

And how could I test the purity, or at least monitor the effectiveness besides adding "more next time" when the mash pH has settled lower than the previous batch?

    lime questions

I've recently started uses calcium hydroxide in 2 recipes and while I've had predictable results so far, I do have a couple questions moving forward. Will the quality of lime degrade in an aqueous solution over time? Does it loose its ability to increase alkalinity like when the powder...

http://http://www.greylor.com/pumps/category/peristaltic-pumps I have the 200A and 100 model with dc throttle coming in soon. I am not sure on the life expectancy rating mentioned, but I am sure that is the tubing which is easily replaceable. We also order the GW Kent injection, and hope...

    Peristaltic pump recommendation

Found Greylor and their website....exactly what I needed. Several sizes and food grade options. I think the prices are spot on as well. Thanks for the input, it's for a commercial operation, so I needed warranty and longevity over DIY.

    Peristaltic pump recommendation

Any recommendations on a small (~30-50 gph) 110v peristaltic pump? One with food-grade tubing available. I am looking for something for dual purpose...pitch yeast inline to fermentors, and create a continuous dry hop loop through a torpedo. Thanks

Kansas Wort Chiller 60 Plate Heat Exchanger Stainless Steel

Alpha acetolactate decarboxylase - diacetyl killer

Are people having any luck performing this method in a single, conical fermentor? Would dumping alot of the old yeast prior to dropping temperatures leave enough in suspension to help eliminate diacetyl?

    SSR or Mechanical Relay

Is there a preference to control fermentation freezers? I have a BCS462. Pros/cons of SSR vs mechanical relay, contactor? I am also going to have a heating pad or lamp for dual temp control. Relating to the question, I would like to use similar electric devices to control both. thanks

    Principles of Brewing Science errors?

In Fix's book, page 47, Table 1.7, he indicates the following, in regards to mashing effects during temperature rests: Temp (C) 60-65....ALPHA amylase activity leading to maltose production Temp (C) 65-70....BETA amylase activity leading to breakdown of starch to dextrin Is this correct?
