I getting ready to start fermenting in a corny and I wanted to see what problems, if any, everyone has had out there. I hate using my glass carboy mainly cause I'm paranoid I'm gonna drop the damn thing. So when I heard about fermenting in a corny, seemed like a great idea. Comments?

How long will a 5 lb tank last - how many cornys will it fill?

Well it sounds like the best way to go is just to break down and get a single regulator and a tank. Of course, I'll also need to get a frig/freezer and convert it, which solves my other problem of fermentation temperature regulation. On to Craigslist!!

I've been bottling for years now, but I just picked up 3 corny kegs for next to nothing. What's the cheapest way to get started with kegs? No matter where I look, it's going to cost a minimum of $150 for a gauge, tank, lines, etc. What about the CO2 cartridges I've seen? I know they are used...

I'm on the fence about this and I wanted some opinions. I'm debating whether I should build a fermentation chamber, like Son of Fermentation Chamber, or just simply get a frig and a controller. One question I have is what about storing cornys and fermenters together - what are the drawbacks?

I'm surprised that the shirt didn't have enough wicking action to continuously pull the water from the tub. I haven't had a problem with mine drying out, but I don't use a fan either. How much water do you have in the tub?

Okay, got another question about the heatstick - how safe is JBweld? I've done a bit of research and the answer is......maybe? Any thoughts?

I'm thinking about building a heatstick to use for heating water for my mash tun. Has anyone ever found a way to control the temperature with the heatstick with some kind of thermostat? My general idea was to use some type of water heater thermostat.
