    Fiddlehead Mastermind ingredients

Hey all, My friend got a Heady Clone kit that has Conan yeast included. So instead of doing the kit straight we're gonna bump the batch to a 10 gallon all-grain and riff on Heady/ Mastermind. Problem: the intranets got nothing on what may be in mastermind. I'm guessing a grain bill similiar...

    Vt trip Friday: advice welcome

Hey all, Through a connection me and 3 friends were able to get cases of Heady from Alchemist reserved for us, so we're making an impromptu pilgrimage on Friday. We're hoping to try and get Lawson's and Hill Famstead. The question is does anybody have any advise that might help? Anything to...

Efficiency vs. diastatic power (or missing my OG by at least 10 pts)

Ok, so my friend and I brewed the exact same grain bill today (he got ahold of 8 oz of galaxy hops and we did an experiment with late hop additions on the same exact grain bill and first 40 minutes of boil). Back to my tap water, cleaned and tightened my mill . . . Both of us were under...

Efficiency vs. diastatic power (or missing my OG by at least 10 pts)

Most of my gravities are in the 1070s, so not the first. We'll see in about 20-30 minutes, sparging now. Take a preboil gravity and either be happy or pissed

Efficiency vs. diastatic power (or missing my OG by at least 10 pts)

Thanks guys, It was the second wheat, but the 1st was only 40% wheat malt and I hit the numbers on that one. No we didnt check ph at all. Come to think of it, we usually use our tap water through a filter, we're on the same watershed as Victory brewery :). So we've never really messed...

Efficiency vs. diastatic power (or missing my OG by at least 10 pts)

Hey all, Some background: On about my 11th all grain batch, and 7th on my own monster mill mm3. Last 4-5 batches were great after gapping the mill, dialing in etc. My OGs were either spot on or pushed my efficiency into the low 80%s. Friday night my friend and I brewed a batch each...

Dint sanitize beer gun, problem for very short term?

Long short: there was a multitude of craziness that made me forget to sanitize a beer gun a friend let me borrow. I ran a half pint of beer into a pint glass before bottling 2 12 ounce bottles. (Complete sanitation protocols on them). The bottles will be kept cold until Wednesday for a friendly...

    Slowest ferment ever???

So I made a black IPA that was supposed to come in at around FG 1.018. I went to dry hop last Sunday and FG was high at around 1.026. I added dry hops, put the lid back on and gave it a swirl to see if I could get the yeasties moving again. I added more dry hops last night checked gravity...

    My first All-Grain Brew

I did my first all grain Saturday. It's easy yet difficult all at the same time. I took the advice of many threads on this board and the guy at my LHBS to keep the grain bill simple to really focus on the process. (Temperature, lautering, mash in etc.) just having did it, it was solid advice.
