Sooooo... What'd you get for Christmas?

My wife gave me a pair of the new Anvil 7.5 gallon SS fermenters. I have them tucked nice and cozy in my freezer/fermentation chamber.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just brewed a 5 gal batch of Vienna Lager. Did a full boil (60 min.) hops with Hallertauer Mittelfrueh. Smells great as it's cooling.

Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

I have been reading this for the past several evenings and have decided to give it a try. A question that I have is Can you repitch the leftover rice/yeast slurry to a fresh batch of cooked rice and still get good wine? Thanks

    Bee Pollen

I used it once back in the late 90's to make a batch that I called Buzz Beer after the beer that was done on the Drew Carey Show, As I remember I put 1/2 lb. to a 5 gallon batch. It had a slight honey sweetness but more of herbal/floral note. The wife loved it . Good Luck with the experiment.

I have a Honey Amber Ale in the kettle right now. It is called the Bee's Knees Honey Amber Ale. Recipe looked good and it smells great cooking. I will post the recipe if it turns out OK,

What was - or will be - your first "serious" upgrade?

I would say the #1 improvement has been the addition of a computer recipe (I use Brewsmith) program. It has greatly improved the consistency of my brews. #2 has been my stand-up freezer and temp. controller for fermenting. I am now able to reliably brew lagers that have turned out great.

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

I have 5.5 gallons of Vienna Lager in the Fast Fermenter. I brewed on Thursday. I have a Steam Lager kegged awaiting the big finish.:tank:

    So who's brewing this weekend?

I did a 5 gallon batch of Steam lager yesterday using 34/70 yeast that is on it's third turn-around. Had very active fermentation this morning. First two lagers have been great. I have been following the info from the Brulosophy article. :ban:Can't wait for this next one to finish,
