BIAB and consistency / quality issues

I do full boil BIAB and squeeze the bag... I let mine rest in the primary for 4 weeks... I've never had what I felt as loss hoppiness doing this... Adding hops in at 2 weeks or 3 weeks depending on the recipe, but I put them in a hop sack. I also use Irish moss at 15 minutes before end of...

Using Vodka For Cacao Nibs - How Much Is Enough / Too Much?

I just throw them in a hop sack, toss them in the primary for two weeks.

    Imperial Stouts and BIAB

Pretty much do that with my brews. I believe in higher alcohol content beers. I drink to enjoy them, not for quantity. I either do a mash in my cooler then go into my 10 gallon pot or do it in my 20 gallon pot. Depends on the time of the year as for maintaining my mash temperature... just...

Wood-Aged Beer StoneHedge, Oak Aged IPA (5-Gallon AG)

Did this one in a 10 gallon run, 5 I stayed as it was, then did 5 gallons with wood cubes. The wood cubes I did 4 oz in Jim Beam First Cut for about a month then drained them off, bagged it and dropped it into the keg for about 2 weeks. Both are awesome, can say that either are better, just...

American Porter Bee Cave Brewery Robust Porter

Did this back in the end of February. I wasn't really impressed with it till about 2 weeks ago. I mean it was good, just seemed to be missing something. It's came together rather nicely here in the last few weeks. I'll definitely be adding this to my rotation.... Thanks for the recipe!

BIAB nub, 5 gallon batch target.

Yes on the Wilserbrewer bag... I've got 3 of his big bags and the other assortment bags (spider hop and secondary hop). But if your going into bigger brews like I did (8 to 10% ABV). I'd look at least at the 15 gallon, I kick myself for not thinking that far ahead. I just ended up with a...

    Cacao options

Yea, that would be a good one, I just bought a 6 pack of the Mucho IPA. I was quite impressed with it, it was different and I like to try different combinations. Or even the Founders Breakfast Stout. I just did that one and the initial tasting were good. But if you try it post it up, I might...

    Bottle conditioning ?

You wont be wasting working. It'll still be good, I'm sure. But being a stout, I'd wait another week and possible another one. Stouts take a few more days to carb up in the bottle vs. a lighter beer.

Whats size kettle do I need?

I bought a 10 gallon pot, thought it was going to be bigger than I'd need. Little did I know that I should have went to a 15 gallon pot. If I want to continue to do full volume mash, and no sparge. I ran 19.25 lbs of grains with 9 gallons of water in my Spike kettle. Well I had to drain out...
