GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

I've decided to sell this keezer and make another one. The process was quite the learning experience and an awesome time, but it went over budget and is more than I can afford. My goal going into the project was $800 but that quickly fell apart! If I can sell this one I'll be able to build...

New York GE 5.0cf Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Well, after finishing my recent keezer build, I was shocked to see the total cost of a coffin keezer using all new parts. My original estimate was about $800, which has far been surpassed. I enjoyed the process and look forward to making another one, but figured I could list this keezer for sale...

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Thank you. I just prefer the look of the coffin style over a collar or tower style. If the foam situation gets bad then I will address it. To me, maybe 1/4 of a foamy first beer didn't warrant cutting more holes/adding more wiring/etc. The first keg is probably 3/4 gone and the foam situation...

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Thanks, although I'm last on a long list of followers who thought of it before me! I was and still am hesitant on having the tiles run vertically but my cousin was strong willed about it so that's how we did it. Yes on the led controller, awesome purchase for the $15 it cost! Thank you...

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Thank you! Here's a few more pictures. Grouted the back splash and cleaned up the massive mess we made in the garage. Need to darken up the stain in a few spots and poly then I can call it done.

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Thank you! Yes, it's tile over cement board. The build is just about completed. We have to grout the back splash and poly the wood surfaces. Achieving an even stain color has been much more difficult than anticipated but I think it's just about right. Highly recommend adding the brace in the...

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to try clamping the wood to the lid, I hadn't thought of that before. I'm hoping to finish drilling and insulating the coffin tomorrow night. Then I will install the faucets and run all of the lines. Re cooling, I have no immediate plans of adding a fan to the...

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

Mods or members, any way to rotate pics? Not sure why these are being posted at the wrong angle when they are not that way in my photo album.

GE 5.0 Oak Coffin Keezer Build

I started this build with my cousin about a week ago and we are making our way slowly but surely. We've learned a ton and made a ton of mistakes along the way. The build started with a brand new GE 5cf freezer and will be built for 2 taps, since we were not interested in doing a collar. It's...

    4 Tap Coffin Keezer

What are you using for a temperature controller? I would double check all of your temperature parameters. If the freezer was cooling before you started building, it would seem the temperature controller is a probable source of the issue.

5 tap Tower Keezer build with oak

Looks awesome! I'm starting an oak build myself but only a 5cf with 2 taps. How did you attach the trim pieces to the top and did you put cement board or anything under the tile? Also, what did you use to attach the front and side plywood pieces?

    4 Tap Coffin Keezer

Looks good! Two questions, how did you attach your trim pieces around the top to the actual top itself? Did you put anything over the top (i.e. cement board) before tiling?

    Dual-Tap Kegerator Build Under Way

Good progress under the tough circumstances! Does this fridge not have cooling lines running through the top or did you find a spot where there weren't any? Also, where did you purchase the fridge?

    6 Tap Igloo FRF1050 10.6 CU Build

Very cool build! How do you like the temperature controller? I'm planning a keezer build and am yet to decide on the controller.
