I am used to nursing drinking injuries after St Pats but this year I can really mean it literally. I took a bad spill in a slippery bar bathroom and sprained an ankle but I made sure I stayed until close to enjoy the festivities:rockin:. Another St Patties in the books.
I will say that the GRABASS group seem like pretty good guys in the few threads that I have been in with them here. I am moving to to Raleigh in a month or two and they give me the lo-down on the the beer culture there. Im definitely planning on contacting them when I get there and having a brew...
I am moving to Raleigh May 1st....nice timing huh? Anyway this festival was one of my main selling points on the area so I am going to be big into the '08 festival. Its such a ball buster that I am going to miss this thing by a few days. Oh well, what can you do?
Indeed. A little hoppy. Decent but nothing I would go out of my way to buy in a sixer or something. Interesting label though. I finished them pretty quickly. I guess I don't have any complaints with it.
Understood. I had a few of those too and was not impressed. Thats the risk you take sometimes with MH. I particularly don't like when they throw their test beers in the 12 variety pack. One is fine and If I really enjoyed it I would provide positive feedback but if I don't like it what am I...
I second the Magic Hat enjoyment. Im working on a half gallon growler of Single Chair Ale which is only available fresh at the brewery in Burlington. My parents were there last week and they knew better than not to return with anything less then a few growlers so Im stocked right up. Im...
I will tell you building this home bar was one of the best things ive ever done. Since then we have added a nice steel tip/electronic score dartboard and I bought a golden tee arcade golf game. ususally after parties you have enough empties to return for your next batch. its been quite fun...
Hey what do you think about my home bar set-up?...Built it last summer and I have been improving on it ever since. The armrest is a beer cap inlay that I did with a dovetail router bit. Came out pretty nice. No repeats throughout the whole 9 foot long bar! pretty soon I hope to have about 2...
Your right. Stupidly I didn't use a starter on this strand but I can bet I will definitely be doing that next time. I may invest in a better aeration system too. 72 hours is just unacceptable. Nice WYEAST acronym too orpheus!
Alright I think I may be experiencing some real trouble here. I am making a blue moon clone extract from AHS because I was short on time, resources, equipment etc. because im not brewing in my normal location. My problem is that I have no fermentation after exactly 72 hours. My primary has no...
OK this is great news! I want to stay in touch until I get down to Raleigh area. There are not that many active brew clubs up here and you guys seem to be right on the money. Definitely planning on attending some GRABASS events as soon as I get settled. Glad you responded so quickly!
