    Slight Bouncing around the fermenter

The only concern would be upsetting the settling of the floc particles. If there is enough bouncing they will stay in suspension rather than settle out. If that is still the route you want to go I would let it ferment and then move it to another room for a few days to settle out before racking.

    DIY wort chiller questions.

I would be concerned with cleaning. Wort is full of debris, that can easily stick to the insides of the copper. This is why most people use a reverse system. Keeping the wort on the outside means you can seen if it is clean and greatly reduce chances for infection. Boiling water may not sanitize...

Wanted: This One Goes to 11 Ale clone

I too had a similar offer from a coworker. Completely bummed I didn't buy some when I was at Bells. Apparently they still have some kegs around, it would be nice if they would make some more.

    Getting Proper Yield

Recipes include a OG specification (ones I use) that usually has a range of 4-5 thousandths. when you hit this mark, you have all the ingredients in the proper ratios with the water, assuming everything else is done correctly. Water has a value of 1, so the more water you add the lower the...

    Getting Proper Yield

Really you should be looking for a specific gravity during the final water add. Getting up to 6 gallons sounds like too much and you are probably diluting too much ( if it is a 5 gal recipe). Hydrometers are only about 6$ and save you from making watery beer.

    Greetings from Kalamazoo, Michigan!

The Beer Exchange is a good place to go. Especially if the "market" is down on what you want to try you can get it pretty cheap. the whole deal is that it is like a stock market. The more a beer is bought, the higher the price, and opposite if no one is drinking one. The prices change on a 15...

    Priming sugar

Table sugar is different that cane. Cane and turbinado sugar are the same, they are the brown looking sugar.

    clean brew bucket drain?

I have the same spigots (in the used brew kit I just bought). There was a similar dark spot that you could see in the threaded part. When you feel the inside, there is no deposit it appears to be a stain.

    clean brew bucket drain?

I have one of these on my primary fermentation bucket. I don't dare use it to transfer to the secondary because I haven't found a way to sanitize it after the nozzle sits in the open during fermenting. Does anyone have a way to sanitize? Or is it not worth worrying about?
