    Best NEIPA hop combos

Thought maybe it meant that it didn't work and I shouldn't use it. Didn't realise it was hard to get overseas, is relatively cheap over here.

    Best NEIPA hop combos

No love for Riwaka? I've done 1:1 Nelson and mosaic which was delicious and the best beer I've brewed. Was thinking about going citra, Nelson, Riwaka 2:1:1 in my next neipa (in about 4 weeks), but concerned that nobody seems to use Riwaka.

    Replacement for Wy2000

Hi all, Wy2000 Budvar has been my go to lager yeast. Sadly it's no longer available. I tried WLP 802 and wasn't overly keen on the result. Does anyone know something similar to the Budvar strain? Cheers

    Galaxy smash?

I haven't done a smash but I have done a single hopped pale ale with it. The hops schedule looks good. I feel confident you'll make a delicious beer.

Thoughts on DIPA (Huell Melon, Mandarin Bavaria + ?)

Hop additions are too early imo. Use more hops later on and get more flavour and aroma fro them. I use around 400g in a 21 litre IPA. So would add a bit more on top for a dipa. For your batch size I'd go at least 200g probably leaning towards 300g. That'd include dry hopping. Hit it with...

    Most Intense Hop Varieties

I'll second Nelson sauvin. Blends really well with mosaic imo, used the two of them in my last neipa. Was my favourite beer to date. Wish I still had it on tap.

Best Automated System for NE-Style IPAs?

    Newbie from New Zealand

Hey there and welcome to the hobby. I jumped straight into all grain with a pot, a bag and a fermenter. The bag I'm talking about is a biab bag that you get from a brew shop for about ten bucks. That'd be enough to do your smash beer (well pretty much any beer). Ideally you'd get someone...

We invented an automated home malting machine

Do you have a link to the startup? This seems cool.

    The three most important things...

The 2 things I've personally had ruin beers are sanatation and temperature control. One caused a Brett infection (actually think this will turn out grand) and the other caused solventy flavour I the beer and wasn't nice.

    ageing in corny question

Hi all, So in a couple of weeks I plan to brew a RIS for drinking in the winter (from nz so we're about to head into summer). This has made me think about brewing other winter beers that need ageing and logically I am thinking of a barleywine. Now if I brew 5 gallons of barleywine I will...

    Favorite Hops To Brew With

For IPA and pale ale I really like Nelson and Galaxy. Both are overly fruity hops. Nelson I use from 20 minutes onwards, Galaxy I use for whirlpool and dry hop additions. Riwaka is another nice hop to use late. For lagers I can't go past Czech Saaz. Beautiful for nice crisp dry lagers. Use from...

    Pacific Gem hops

A mate of mine used them and hated them. Reckoned it made his beer taste like he was chewing on a stick. Either way they don't sound good.
