Gonna brew this today. I have recently started back to brewing after a couple year hiatus.
this was always one of my favorites btw.
Problem is, i was unable to get WLP007. I made a 2L starter of WLP002. I am worried about it being too sweet since the 002 doesnt attenuate like the 007...
Well this morning the kreuzen dropped and there the wort was a nice cream color vs the dark brown color it was before the yeast took off. There was also a nice ring around the flask that was about 3/4 of an inch thick. I will take a gravity reading later today.
I plan to use this in an...
Just got home from work and noticed about a 3/8" layer of foam/kreuzen on top. This morning there was nothing, just a brown liquid stirring on the stir plate. Its been 22 hrs. This is encouraging. It also smelled pretty good.
More to follow.
I just made a starter from some Pacman yeast i washed and referigerated back in Oct 2010, so nearly 4 years. 1500 ml starter at 1.038 Og. Been on the stirplate for about 12 hrs. Plan to give it 4 or 5 days i guess and see what happens.
Thanks for the reply. Its not my first batch but probably my hundredth. Just havent brewed for a few months and forgot the conversion. I googled it, found the answer and brewed it this past weekend. My efficiency is usually around 85%...crush my own!
Thanks again.
Cant find the 500L British roasted barley, how will using black patent 500L affect this. Also i plan on using WLP002 english ale yeast since thats all i could find. Planning on this tomorrow.

We use one of these at a range i shoot at. We have completely abused this welder for the past 2 years and i hasnt missed a beat. For under a hundred bucks, you cant beat it. Mig welding is very easy to learn. Just practice on scrap steel till you get the hang of it. also buy a cheapo angle...
deadguy didnt work for me, nor did double deadguy. I tried for over a week with both. I finally ordered a wyeast Pacman from Brewmasterswarehouse. Since then, i've washed 12 half pints of the pacman from a DFH 60 clone. Now pacman is my main yeast for my IPA's
I brewed 2 extract kits from the LHBS, then did one PM thanks to the posts on this site. Then worked up the nerve to build my MLT (thanks again to HBT). Haven't looked back. Once you go all grain you have to score a barleycrusher. Best investment ive made so far besides my keezer and 4 keg...
Making my second batch of this today. I am going to use pacman that i harvested from a prev batch of DFH 60 since i have about 10 half pint mason jars with pacman. Hope it turns out as good as my first batch.
