Never been so discouraged about homebrew (need some encouragement)

I second the idea of taking a bottle or two into your brew store. I'm just south of you in Dallas and I would recommend taking a bottle into Homebrew Headquarters. They'll be able to help you out with the off flavors. I've never done it and maybe there is some law against it or something, but I...

    Carbing and Conditioning

Don't fear the bottle bombs. I've been brewing for a little over a year now and haven't seen one yet. Do they happen? Sure. Are they common? Not really. Bring those little fellas inside and they'll carb right up. Listen to Yooper.

How do i store and rotate and carb

^^ +1 I have the same 2 tap kegerator set-up as you and I am using priming sugar to carb one or two kegs outside the fridge. Works great and keeps options available all the time.

    Priming sugar in Corny??'s

Did you seal the keg with a little CO2? Maybe the lid wasn't sealed fully... I would think 66 degrees would be fine for natural carbing.

Where do you buy your kefging equipment from?

I just bought my keg set-up from Keg Connection and couldn't be happier. Best prices I found. Assembled everything before shipping. Fast shipping. Really a great experience.

    Purchase an electric heat source???

Dr. Francois - Academy is a brick and morter store. (www.academy.com). The store I went to had several in stock. Brought the thing home and wanted to see how long it would take to boil water. Let's just say this isn't going to work for the impatient types out there. In bringing to boil 6...

    Purchase an electric heat source???

You're probably right Dr. Fancois. Just can't ever have too much insulation. ;) Picked one up today at Academy for $80. Gotta give a go this afternoon!

    Purchase an electric heat source???

Anyone using insulation around the Cajun Injector to help make and maintain the boil easier? Thanks for the idea guys. I've been wanting to go electric (my stovetop is looking rough), but the cost has kept from taking the next step. This is a reasonable option.

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

What about adding top off water at the end of the boil? Last night during my brew, I needed to top off with a little over a gallon of water to reach my 5 gallons. I just added tap water since it was late, but what is the best way to add top off water at the end of the boil? My fear is that I...

    Exploring "no chill" brewing

Bought my Aqua Tainer this week and am cooling my first No-Chill batch right now. Love the simplicity of it all. But the process brought up a question... After pouring the wort into the cube, I closed up the cube and it swelled like crazy. I vented it out of fear that the cube was going to burst...

    Can you Brew It database

When I go to 'Help' and 'Add-ons" the "BNs Can You Brew IT Recipes" aren't there at all. Tried seeing if there was a software update, but it says that I have the newest edition. Anyone else having this problem?

    Sanitizing Aquarium Pump Aeration Setup

So I picked up an aquarium pump aeration system with an inline air filter the other day. It came assembled which is great except when it comes to sanitizing it. I can't disconnect the hose from the air filter. It is too tight. So, how do I properly sanitize this system with the air filter...

Question for No chillers and not pitching yeast right away

After reading HBT, I put together the following process. First, put some water in quart size plastic containers (yogurt containers, tupperware, butter containers, etc.) and freeze them the night before. When I'm done with my boil, I add the frozen water from about 6 of these quart size...
