    Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

    Here's mine: "Oh! That's nice. So when are going to make wine?" I reply: "Just after I'm done brewing beer..."

    Beer-plosion

    A 3rd on the lower fermentation temp - especially early on... A bigger diameter blow off tube would reduce the likelihood of any clogging/jamming, hence a blow up. There are certainly worse things to get covered with - few better things really.

    I hope to start some yeast for a Belgian Strong Ale tomorrow. Something to mollify the pangs of stacking firewood several weeks from now...
