    I Love Nottingham Yeast

Just finishing a bitter that is 4.9% 1.042 og, 1.004 finish with Nottingham dry. Fermentation was 65f to start and 55 for most of this past week. Great yeast for English recipes

Going from my old, simple set up to something more "modern", opinions?

Used a three tier keg - propane fired for decades. Bought a 10.5 Anvil foundry a couple of years ago. Love it. Yes 240v use is a must. Bought a 5 gallon conical from them a few months after. Love the Two. I've kegged for years and it all works so much cleaner, faster and cheaper. No need...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Finished an English Bitter Friday. Three point Dachshund. New mini christened the side of my bucket with my grain it it when I set it down for a minute. Good thing he's short, no flavor enhancements we're added. The little ****...:)

Is it moldy? Is it safe to consume?

Yep, only YOU can determine taste. Pull a sample, try it. Obviously flat, but you should be able to tell about off flavors.

Ugh. Some how I managed to add 0.75 lbs acid malt, not 0.75 oz. What is this going to do to my milk stout

I'll bet it'll be fine. Btw I don't know who's flavoring you have, but I bought some last year and it was horrendous. I used half what was called for, and it was just gross. First batch I've dumped in years. And the rest of the extract was trashed also...

    Reality check on Water Chemistry

How about this? Does Costco (don't have one near us) deliver? Sam's delivers for free with their higher membership. Order 10 or 30 gallons of water along with enough to get delivered to your house. Yeah, got to tip the person, but you ain't lugging in at all.

    Why do people Quit brewing?

Been brewing on and off since mid 80s. Never been a heavy drinker, and usually only me drinking, so 4 to 6 brews a year was always a lot solo. Stopped a few times due to work, moved a couple of times and was just hard to get unpacked. But would do one or two brews to just keep it up. Really...

    Square Keg?

Np, just me being a turd. But I'll just stick to regular kegs. I've a half dozen and usually kept 2 serving and one getting ready.

    Square Keg?

Ever looked at the bottom of a 2 liter container? Almost none are smooth. And crap does sticks to every surface. Nah, not big enough. Saw some 1.5 liter kegs, but neither are they, and take up too much height in feidge.

ISpindel not reporting in spike conical

Do I Need to Passivate a New Anvil Brew Kettle?

No, just brew. Clean well and sanitize before use.

    Square Keg?

Nice list of options, and no I didn't do a direct search for square keg, but only ONE post well over a year ago. I did look here under equipment and nothing recent. And in looking through the advert, I thought this was a new product. Your initial paragraph is rather snarky, if I was a new...

    Square Keg?

Anyone own or use one? Popped up on FB. One gallon, looks to be more for easy pour of mixed drinks, but looks interesting. About the price of a new 5gallon keg or so...

    made my first lousy beer

I stopped using plastic buckets when I had 2 in a row go south. Dropped the money on an anvil foundry 10g and then a fermenter.. just added a leg kit (should be std or at least a few dollar discount as you toss original legs) to drop beer directly into keg. Got too much of a hassle to lift...
