    founders red's rye ipa clone

I love these old threads, good information never dies. Brewing this tonight with some slight alterations, will post my recipe tomorrow. I have a question if anyone still reads this thread... Have most of you dry hopped this one in primary or did you have better results with a secondary...

Just curious when you guys saw peak flavor if you bottled? Mine is green still but I am excited to see where it goes!

Saison Hi Nelson! Nelson Hopped Saison w/Hibiscus

Thanks DrunkleJon! I am bottling, would that change things as far as adding tea and hops to primary?

    looooong fermentation

I am brewing a saison (currently at 14 days in primary) and planning to add hibiscus tea and an ounce of Nelson sauv hops once I hit my FG. Would I be okay doing all of this in my primary bucket or would it be better to do a secondary? Thanks!

Saison Hi Nelson! Nelson Hopped Saison w/Hibiscus

Was there anyone who decided not to do a secondary for this recipe and would you make the same decision again? Also for a saison yeast with a temperature range 70-80 where many people like to ramp up much higher during fermentation, do you continue those high temperatures during secondary...

Saison Hi Nelson! Nelson Hopped Saison w/Hibiscus

Hi everyone, I've read through all the posts and have what may be a silly question. Has anyone added the tea directly to primary and not done a secondary? Also this is my first saison and I was wondering if you maintain your high temps for secondary fermentation (in a carboy) or if you go...

I am just going to leave it alone I think, if it is off then I will just have to drink them faster and brew something else soon!

Urgent- can I top off with tap water

Estimated OG was 1.049 for 4.5 gal. (Recipe) Est. OG for 3.8 gal is 1.057 (per beer smith) Measured OG was 1.058 (at 3.8 gal)

Urgent- can I top off with tap water

My boil was miscalculated and I have 3.8 gal instead of 4.5, should I leave it alone or can I too off with tap water directly? The water is really good here but it definitely has chlorine in it. My OG is a tiny bit high but is close. Just pitched yeast and sealed the bucket. Thanks!

    american wheat beer recipe

I was thinking carapils for head retention (foam stability) and mouthfeel? Would the C10 cover that also?

    american wheat beer recipe

Thanks guys! The 05 is one of my favorite yeasts but I think I will try the 1010 for this one and just keep my ferment temps in range, will let you know how it tastes!

    american wheat beer recipe

Anyone have any suggestions / thoughts on this recipe? Looking for an easy brew, relatively short time brew to glass, minimal esters (i don't like banana really), and I will probably zest a lemon or two to add at the end of the boil. Thanks! :) No mash 3 lbs light DME 3 lbs wheat...

    Bottling with short neck bottles

I live next to Founder's brewing and use their short bottles a lot in my homebrewing, haven't had an issue either :) **Edit: I bottled today (5/20/15) and had difficulty with my short neck bottles from Founders this time, luckily didn't break any
