Well I brewed my first AG batch today with my buddy and had a few of the Sams Sampler....Black lager, Rauchbeir, Irish Red then we decided to taste my AHS Irish Red. And another. haha. Home brew wins hands down!
Ok, so we had a successful day! I'm not sure everything was 100% but I think it was close all things considered. So we ran the 3.5 gallons to 170 (as I didn't see the above post until now) and the temp went to about 153-154 at dough in. We let sit for 30 min checked temp was at 152-153 let...
Yes thank you! I was going to pump the wort through for a few minutes until in ran clean before I start putting it to the Kettle.
What do you mean to split the sparge? Do Initial dough in at 3.5 gallons then 2.5 and 2.5 gallons?

Hey Neil! I just started this past year as well. I will be brewing my first all grain brew tomorrow. It will be my tenth batch. So I guess we are on pace haha. Good to see another NY brewer.
I think they look good but I"m prob still considered a noob. I was planning on centennial myself next year. How was it? Anything I should keep in mind?
