    Protecting the taps from babyzilla

I think I am going to try splicing one of these into one of my beer lines and see how well it works. http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/shutoff-valve-1-4-barb.html

    Protecting the taps from babyzilla

I did think about disconnecting the lines but like someone said they do dribble when you pull them off which can become a sticky mess in the bottom of your keezer over time. It is probably the easiest option though. If you poppet gets stuck open when the hose come off it could make an even more...

    Protecting the taps from babyzilla

Any suggestions on how I can lock/protect my keezer taps from a child? My 19 month old is almost tall enough and reach them and, well, she's in to everything so I know it's just a matter of time before the dumps 5 gallons of home brew out on to the floor one of these days.

    Gauge problems and CO2 leak

Sounds like you might need a new regulator. If you set your regulator to 12psi but it got up to 35psi that means your "regulator" is not "regulating" like it is supposed to. If it is busted, that could explain while the gauge on it is acting whacky.

    Burned through the tank

You have a leak in your system somewhere that you need to find. A 5 pound tank will last you a dozen kegs or more if you're not leaking gas.

Seeking advice on extract pumpkin ale

The AHS site also says to add it in with the grains during mashing. I think I am going to give it a shot that way. Adding it to the boil sounds like it could get a lot messier.

Seeking advice on extract pumpkin ale

Hi all, I got the Pumpkin Ale kit from AHS. I meant to order the partial mash kit but I must have messed up because it came yesterday and I accidentally ordered the extract kit. I have some canned pumpkin that I was going to mash with my grains, but since I'm going to be doing extract instead...

Partial Mash - How much water?

Go for it. You're partial mashing so you top off with plain water at the end anyways so it's going to have minimal to no impact. I've done a couple northern brewer partial mashes and their instructions say 5 quarts, I think...that's not nearly enough and I've bumped it up with no problem whatsoever.

    One year later

Hi all, I wanted to come here and show my appreciation for this site and it's community. When I first started brewing as a "full time hobby" about a year ago this site was invaluable to me. I had A LOT of questions and I only needed one place to find the answer, this site. If I couldn't...

    Leaky 525SS

Ok, it looks like the piece I am leaking from is referred to as then"bonnet". Perlicks document on how to clean the 500 series says that the o-ring is likely either damaged or not installed correctly. I'll check into this further, and maybe order some replacements. Theyre cheap.

    Leaky 525SS

Hey guys, I have a perlick 525ss that keeps leaking. It was fine for months but lately it has been a pain. It is not leaking from the spout itself. It leaks from the top screw on piece up near the handle. I've broken it down several times, cleaned it and put it back together and that fixes it...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

    I do.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

According to my taste buds, I find very little difference between apfelwein and cheap champagne. YMMV. My wife absolutely loves it though. I always keep at least one tap in the keezer stocked specifically for her and this is one of the top choices.

Thank you, Yooper. Thank you for teaching me how to brew the nectar of the gods! It came out AMAZING. :drunk:
