I thought we were talking about the 3 and Y price. The CT is too new to really have enough data to reliably know the price.. mostly it's just guesses. It actually works quite well and I’d never go back to the old manual switch type controls. I’ve hade zero issues with either of my Tesla cars or the screens in 7 and 5 years of ownership. P.S. It’s $1400 to replace one not $3500 so maybe don’t listen to whom ever you heard that from.

The important takeaway for me from that whole conversation is you can make electrons for an EV on your roof even in a disaster but you can't make gas in your garage ever.

If I were making that trip in the Tesla I could make it across through Roswell using the many j1772 chargers available in that area. Lubbock-Clovis-Santa Rosa is also possible. Or if I had a smaller battery instead I’d probably take the freeway through ElPaso and Albuquerque as there are plenty...

I really doubt we will run out of power for EV anytime soon as there is already 100 gigawatts of excess capacity on the grid as it sits right now. To make it even more efficient all we need is more grid scale batteries and better interconnection. These things are easily solvable and not terribly...

The worst inconvenience, if you can call it that, was a few times when I was happily charging at 150kw on 1A and someone pulls into 1B and takes half of that. But those were older 1st gen superchargers that split the power between two stalls. The newer ones don't do that anymore.

Here too. In 6 years of EV I have yet to wait for a charging spot but then I mostly charge at home.

True but this is all changing with the advent of the new LMFP batteries.

Or just buy one with a LiFePO4 battery and then you never have to worry about past charging transgressions.
