    Igloo FR464 mini-fridge

I've run it down to 42 with no trouble. Never tried to get any lower though I imagine it should do it. Most fridges, full size at least, come set to 38 from the factory. I've fermented my last two batches at 63 easily.

it should. But refer to the measurements listed above and measure your kegs. Caveat emptor and all that.

I'd say go for it! I'm sippin a lovely little Kolsch, my first from this ferm. chamber, right now. Everyone that brews should own a fermentation chamber.

It's a 5 gallon. My 6 wouldn't fit. If by floor of the fridge you mean in front of the compressor hump then no. It's only 8.75 inches deep. Measure whatever you plan on putting in it for sure; then refer to the dimensions I posted a few posts back.

    Igloo FR464 mini-fridge

The picture from WalMart is wrong. If you look closely in the one I posted you can see there actually are no refrigerant lines. The "freezer" was actually just a plastic bin. I didn't need to make any mechanical modifications. Just took off the door plastic and never installed the freezer box...

    Igloo FR464 mini-fridge

Correct. You can see from the picture it holds just one. Also there's no head room for an airlock on a carboy, hence the blowoff tube. A bucket with airlock fits just fine.

    Igloo FR464 mini-fridge

Extra data for those coming across this. The fridge is 17 in wide, 29 inches tall at it's tallest (between door and compressor hump at the back) 15.5 inches deep at its deepest, 21.5 inches tall from the compressor hump to the top, and the hump is 8.75 inches from the door. With all the...

Wort Temp vs. Fermentaiton Chamber Temp

JFR, The johnson controller is digital (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00368D6JA/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20) and the offset is programmable down to 1 degree. Good point on the calibration. I'll check it next chance I get. Thanks for the thermowell link Jammin; I'll get some knowledge...

    Igloo FR464 mini-fridge

I bought one for a fermentation chamber and for that use it's perfect. Holds buckets and 5 Gal. carboys no problem.

Wort Temp vs. Fermentaiton Chamber Temp

Sweet. I'll plan on going the foam route since I have some on hand. I might still set the controller a few degrees cooler until I have a few batches though it for comparison. Gracias.

Wort Temp vs. Fermentaiton Chamber Temp

Does anyone have any experience or reasonable estimations for the expected temperature of the fermenting wort in its vessel (carboy or ale pail) compared to the temperature of the surrounding air? I got myself a perfect little fermentation fridge (after several batches tasting exactly as...
