    Final Gravity Seems High

After some reading, let's see if I understand. I can measure the OG with the refractometer. I measure Brix at the end of fermentation and use an online calculator to convert to SG and get ABV.

Yes I am. How does one adjust the reading?

    Final Gravity Seems High

My last two brew's final gravity seem high. I did an all grain porter using dry yeast and SG was 1.055, FG was 1.030, calculated ABV of 3.5% Latest brew is a Scottish Ale using liquid Wyeast. SG 1.061, FG 1.032, calculated ABV 3.8%. Are those reasonable numbers? Or am I maybe not doing...

    Robobrew Again

Thanks for all the good news! Doesn't seem flimsy to me. I'm not a professional brewer, maybe 3-4 brews a year so I think it will be fine.

    Robobrew Again

It arrived today and is a thing of beauty with one problem. The handle can't be removed after lowering the malt tube. Apparently a design flaw easily remedied by grinding the ends of the handle.

    Robobrew Again

Looking at maybe buying one soon. Wondering if the pump model has big advantages over the non pump. Looks too me all it does is circulate the wort during mashing. Is that a big deal? New to all grain brewing.
