I brew the Octoberfest from the kit and the grain use for steping was not crashed and I didn't notice that. The beer was dry and had no body. I've added 6 oz. of maltodextrine to secondary and finished beer had head and light body. Check your grain and steping method.
I've noticed it too. My Blueberry Mead tasted pretty good at 1.035, now at 1.002 has burning alcohol taste and some medicine in it. It still fermenting so I rack it of the yeasts to carboy and it's improving.
Most setting are 0.045, I have it set for 0.039 and last time I oalmost got stock sparge.
Next time I'm going to treat grain with water and keep this setting
700% icreased risk, it would be a lot of people dying already but cancer is more under control than ever, (hey it's Europe with their crappy healtcare system)
I have the same seting and have about 80% eficiency but last time had almost stack sparge. I'm going to do malt conditioning next time and use some rice hulls. I tied to motorize it but my puleys were sliping(belt too narow) and had to use 4.5 amps drill to mill.
