Thanks for the replies guys. I found a leak in the corny keg. For some reason the lid won't seal properly. I'm going to take it into my LHBS for additional help.

I recently kegged a 12.5% ABV hard cider that my girlfriend and I made. We used quite a bit of sugar and champagne yeast so it turned out to be a very big cider. I force carbed at 30 PSI for 36 hours expecting to have some amount of carbonation. To my avail, the cider was still. Should I try...
Hello all!
In regards to a recent post, I discovered that I had overcarbed my first batch. I've read many different ratios for a five gallon batch. What works for you all? Is the priming solution amount dependent on the recipe, or do you have an amount that works every time? (For bottling)...
I do admit that it wasn't the best idea in hindsight to add additional dextrose. I'm used to drinking really big beers, so maybe that's the only issue, is that this beer has less non-fermentable sugars in it now. It tastes somewhat like batch 19 (coors prohibition style) - much less flavor than...
This was a basic extract kit. Boil to 170 with grain in the Muslin bag, then add LME at 60 min and boil adding hops in increments at 45 min, 55 min, and 60 min. I just tried another beer, and it was much better. I made sure that I didn't pour any yeast into the glass this time around.
I like the standard pint glasses. The tulip glasses piss me off because they just remind me of when restaurants serve you a 8.0% beer in one and charge you 3$ more for nearly half as much beer....
I'd have to say though, I really enjoy drinking from my dad's glass beer mug from his college days:
Hey everybody,
I'm just trying to troubleshoot my first batch. Had a small boil over during the 60 min boil, and when I siphoned to the primary, I didn't seal the lid 100% for an hour afterwards (I noticed this after the fact, and sealed it all the way). After 2 weeks, I noticed that when I...
Dang, that is terrible. Just out of curiosity, is a picnic tap the same thing as a cobra tap? I am planning on legging for the first time and would like to avoid this dilemma.
I live in downtown Mpls.
Just finished fermenting my first batch. Pretty poor abv turnout, although I didn't have the seal on correctly for the first hour. Still bottled anyway, despite the slightly sour smell of the pale ale. I started a black IPA two days ago and it is bubbling ferociously...
Hey everybody! I have been drinking beer for quite some time now, and found myself wanting more and more to create my own. I finally got a basic kit and am excited to start brewing. I thought that it would be a good idea to become part of HBT and the brewing community to learn about techniques...
