I made a beer 6 months ago and it turned out fine. I just opened a bottle I had left over and it foamed like crazy and had floating peices in it. Tastes ok, but looks nasty! What happened?
Thats what i'm going to do. Those were my two biggest issues with the fridge; frost and temp not cold enough. I looked into that before because I heard TONS of people installed them. I just wanted to make sure that would actually do the trick. Will search the forums now to figure out how to...
This happened before and it was giving me problems with getting the fridge cold enough. I unplugged it and let it defrost, but now its back again developing like snow accumulation. I have heard about cooling fans. Will that do the trick? If not, how else do I stop this from happening?
This has to be a pretty common thing b/c its happened with two different Auto-siphons. After I clean it with PBW or Oxyclean, it develops these streaks all over it. They look like scratches but thats not possible, given that all I did was clean it. Anyone know what that is? Any problems with...
I am new to kegging and kegerators. I bought a Haier Kegerator (Brewmaster) used and i'm having problems getting the temps cold enough. I put a glass of water inside and the temp reads ~43-44. There was supposed to be a trick where you could adjust a tiny screw on the thermostat to make it...
Oh well...I'm still going to do it based on what he gave me. Would it still turn out decent if I do the mash @ 150 for 60 and a 60 min boil?
BTW: I'm really not concerned about it being close to Sierra Nevada at all. I just want a good pale ale.
The guy at my LHBS gave me this recipe that he got out of a book or mag and then tweaked it a bit.
Original Recipe:
10.33 lbs Us 2-Row Pale malt
1/2 lb dextrin malt
1/4 lb Crystal 60L
1 oz Nugget-90 min
1/2 oz Perle- 15 min
1 oz Cascade= 1 min
Wyeast 1056
1/2 oz cascade dry...
I got a pretty nasty dent in my 8 gal Aluminum brew pot. First, are there any issues that would come along with continuing to brew with it? If so, can I at least use it for heating mash/sparge water with no ill effects?
I found a used Danby Kegerator for sale on Craig's List for $250. Says it comes with a full Co2 tank, 1 tap tower and everything included. I think the guy was using it for full sized kegs. All I know about kegerators is that I really want one! Don't want to make an impulse buy. What do you...
Absolutely. I am very scientific by nature. I will document thoroughly tomorrow's AG brew(Ed's Haus Pale Ale). Right now I am debating between two procedures. 1) Preheat the MT with boiling water and 2) Just add water per Beer Smith Strike temp +15 degrees and stir til appropriate strike temp...
Yes. Still lots of initial heat loss.
