    Plug in element.

Hey guys figure this is the place to post this. I had to get a new pot today which ended up being slightly larger than what my glass top stove can handle. So I was wondering if any of you know of an element that I could just plug in to counter top receptacles to help get the boil going and...

    What disease is this?

So I'm in the process of drying a few cones, I guess the aphids really had their eyes set on one of the cones, went to the basement and thought wow that is one fuzzy looking hop ...... than the fuzz started to move.

    My Bounty

Awesome that's about what I got off of my cascade last year. You'll be surprised how much you get next year.

    What disease is this?

Thanks, that is indeed what it seems to be. Do you know what the health hazards would be if a couple infected cones made it through my pickings?

    What disease is this?

Just wondering what it is and what I can do to prevent this next year, other plants don't look effected, cut this one down to prevent spread. Lot's of little white mites all over the entire plant as well. 2nd year cascade.

    Cheap and easy Vacuum sealing.

Don't know if this has been covered here but the pic says it all, push out as much air as you can than stick any fast food straw into the bag and suck out as much air as you can. Works great, I dry my hops down to 20% of their original weight,

Buying used corny kegs. What to look for?

Look for dents on the inside, make sure the handles aren't falling off, take a 7/8" 12 point wrench with you, check all posts and poppets in posts for seals and rust, hold dip tube and c02 inlet tube up to a light and see if you can see any rust inside them.

Anyone ever prime with maple syrup?

Did it with syrup I made this year, used 3/4 tsp instead of 1/2 Tsp per 450ml bottle. Carbed in normal time, tasted great.

    Compost T for Hop Plants

I used bat crap, and sheep manure, than filled a 5 gal bucket of water and tied a sock filled with manure and chucked it in the bucket. The hops and everything else in my garden seemed to like the crap tea, go for it.

    How loose is too loose.

That is a kick ass idea Homer, I'll be doing that this week than. Thanks.

    How loose is too loose.

I'm also using the cheap juste twine, though I tied two sets per hops than twisted them together with the electric drill. I'll see if I can get a pic up to show how the wind may be of a concern with the length my lines are. Edit: So the pic worked this is from last year, where I had been...
