First time trip to Belgium - NEED BREWERY TIPS!

Hello all! I am going to Europe in March of next year and will have only about 2 full days in Belgium as we fly out of Brussels. I HAVE to at least try Westvleteren 12 and would love to see the monastery but don't know the rules or if they even allow that as I know some Trappist monasteries...

Do you dry hop in the primary or the secondary?

I always dry hop in primary. Probably sound redundant at this point but whats the use in risking oxidation by using secondary? Used leaves last time and no problem. Once its converted the alcohol will kill anything and there really isn't any issue with contamination. On Tap: Blvd Wort...

Advice for Coffee Stout coffee addition

Killer! So the whiskey flavor didn't come through at all and you used, I assume, like 6-8 cups of it?! My base will be a milk stout as well. I'm gonna add the coffee to secondary for like 2-3 days at the end before bottling. "dry-coffee" if you will... Do you still have the recipe you used...

Advice for Coffee Stout coffee addition

Hey not sure if you're still around but one question I had as I'm gonna give this a go soon! Did you steep the coffee grounds and then press it and THEN let it sit for 12-24 hours or did you just let it steep in the grounds for 12-24 hours before pressing the grounds down? Also did you JUST...

Question about adding spices to my Secondary

Hey guys! I did a Boulevard Nutcracker Ale clone a few weeks ago and I'm getting ready to dump it into secondary. I was looking for advice on adding spices to my secondary to give it more wintery flavor. It is roughly 5 gallons. Was thinking of adding 1 Tbsp of Cinnamon, 1 tsp of nutmeg...

    Brewing my first PUMPKIN!

Oh yeah I do all-grain... Just was confused 3-vessel is not a term I've heard so far. Relatively new! :) I fashioned a Tun out of a rubbermaid cooler, no BIAB. Thanks for the feedback! Do you know of a ST Pumpking Clone by any chance?!?!?!

Anyone got a st pumking clone?!

Just curious have seen a few threads about this beer but not any that have finality or end results?! Anyone have a grain bill and end results for a ST Pumking clone?! So amazed at this beer and looking for a clone! Thanks guys! On deck: Not sure yet... Most likely a Stout variation...

Three Vessel? And so you are saying its not necessary to cook it for an hour at 350? What does the carmalization do? Rice husks?

    Brewing my first PUMPKIN!

Hey guys, Doing my 4th All-Grain this weekend and had a question... https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/schlafly-pumpkin-ale-clone-attempt-sorta-201624/ I was told I need to bake the canned pumpkin on a cookie sheet... How long and do I put it on foil? I understand the reasoning behind...

    Metallic/tart Finish on a brew...

I'm in Missouri and just used tap... We have some of the best water in KC. If I recall I used the London ESB 1968 Wyeast and have read that can cause the off flavor EARLY on in the fermentation and time heals it.
