I just Started my brewday with my new March 809HS pump. One quick question when pumping from Brewkettle to plate chiller.
Does the order go:
BK->Pump->Plate Chiller-> Fermentor? Would this cause Hot side aeration?
Or should I go
BK->Plate Chiller-> Pump->Fermentor...

I am in the process of building an Electric HLT out of a Igloo 10 gallon round water Cooler. I am installing 2- 1500w elements and am using the 1' lock nut with o-ring (Bargain Fittings.com) to secure it, For the life of me I can not get the lock nut to thread on to the water...
I am mounting them on the bottom a bit offset to each other to hopefully induce some convection currents. Do you guys have agitators on your Electric HLT's? What type of motor did you use?

Well alright then, Thanks for everybodys input!!! I switched over to making 11.00 gallon batches recently and I was a little hesitant on 11 gallons of a first run recipe I wrote. I feel pretty confident now that it should turn out pretty good. I'll let you know how it turns out!!!

Yeah it is a little Frustrating especially considering the money spent on both, It was pretty much the same amount of time with my old beat up brew keg and Immersion Chiller and just siphoning out trub and everything and just letting it settle out in the carboys.
