    How is Your Hops Inventory Holding Out?

    I can't beleive you americans are still paying out the arse for hops. Even in little old New Zealand imported Cascades are $38.00/kg or $1.05/oz and New Zealand grown hops are as low as $21.50 per kg. Can't imagine how much your pale ales are costing

    NZ Green Bullet Hops

    Ive used them heaps but only as a bittering hop and they work great. I cant comment on their aroma or flavour though.

    Ive used them alot and they make a wounderful bittering hop for almost any style. I havnt used it as a flavour/aroma hop as i beleive the high aplha hops are breed for that reason rather than a pleasant flavour aroma.     Munich/Vienna in an IPA?

    I like my ipa's to have more hop flavour and aroma and would change to low alpha hops (cascade, goldings but prefer saaz D or saaz B being from New Zealand) and around 100-150 grams late in the boil.

    Firstly how long can you leave beer in plastic before it has negative effects? Ive done 8 weeks in plastic with with no noticable differences bettween the other half which was in stainless!!

    From my experience fresh is good with a hefe. I do 2weeks primary then one week in the keg and drink. I think they peak around 3-5 weeks and my wlp300 will drop out when cooled for long peroids.

    you could always get it shiped if you wanted it. I picked up some lactic acid from a local brewery which is what they use but is only effective if you have a relible way of testing eg pH meter. Its very strong stuff and a little goes a long way.
