Never used for fermentation. Only used once as part of a system I built that was basically a temp controlled swamp cooler. Chiller coil extensions included (extra $25 value). Everything looks and functions like brand new except the lines have some scale built up in them. Everything has been...
Just wanted to share my solution for 1 gallon batch temperature controlled fermentation chamber. I quickly grew out of this (full size kegerator that will be used as fermentation chamber on the way) but I think this has worked extremely well!
Components:
Little big mouth bubbler
Igloo 28...
Small ball valve shouldn't cost too much. Was thinking of getting the 2.5 gallon tanks. I'd make a stand that holds both back to back in my fermentation fridge . That would allow me to still do small batches or split a larger one between the two tanks.
Has anyone used one of these tanks as a fermentation vessel?
Do you think they would work alright? I'm looking to buy a small conical fermenter and these Might fit the bill.

Dcpcooks - please keep me posted on the leak test! Thanks for the basket tip.
I'm starting to lean towards Spike Brewings 7 gallon fermenter. They said it should be available late June. The larger 2" dump valve will probably come in handy for trub. Also, they can weld in a 2" tri clamp for the...
I already have SS Brewtechs cooling kit. I could just hook that up to the sink for the initial wort cooling then swamp it over to chill water source for fermentation. Definitely cheaper ways to do it but for an all in one vessel I can't really think of anything.
Also, did I post this in the...
I live in an apartment and have limited space for dedicated large boil and ferment buckets. I came across the 3 in 1 fermenter that Brewha makes and I really like the idea. It's just a bit pricey.
My idea is to use Brewtech's 7 gallon fermenter and add a water heater element (heat stick or...
I'm now 2 weeks after bottling and tried another one. The floating stuff seemed to disappear once I poured it OR, it is the stuff floating on top of the beer. The tart/sour flavor did not develop any more and actually may have subsided. Beer taste pretty good minus the unappealing stuff floating...
