I fill my carboys on an entirely different floor and I plan on putting some silicon sealer to ensure no dust gets in.
Question: What kind of top should I have on this?
I was going to go with particleboard/plywood with tile on it but I just ran into close to unlimited 2 foot x 1 foot x 1...
Thanks everyone for the input so far!
Reelale/drunkle: Thanks! I figured there had to be a reason why people didn't use the fiber glass insulation. I think I might just have to rent a truck or take some box cutters and cut it on site to fit it in my car (maybe I can use this to finally get...
So I have finally convinced myself (my fiance actually) that I needed a designated grain and fermentation area. I've found out if you leave enough equipment laying around and make enough mess around the house... the convincing part is much easier :tank:.
The final straw was with the Belgium...
It is very possible as I have it :)
I have about 8 feet of non chilled line that runs from my basement to my kitchen and I have no issues what so ever.
The 2 main worries are foaming and your beer being warm. What I did was get an insulated tube around the beer lines and lowered my chest...
It is an auto siphon took about 10 minutes but it did the job..
The keg actually didn't crack. The disconnect OUT developed a hairline fractrue and misted 5 gallons onto the other kegs.. End result: lost 5 gallons of beer, all of my CO2, and had a nasty clean up. Everything is back in...
Thanks for all of the suggestions so far everyone.. keep them coming!
I've been doing a little additional researching as well.. I went on Briess' recipe list and looked at their goldenweizen which says to mash at 108F then raise it to 148F for 50 minutes...
Hey guys I have been brewing for 2 years now and looking through my records I never have any problem when I use strictly barley. However, whenever I use wheat my OG is terrible. Last night I made a scrap pumpkin wheat beer of just what I had left laying around that I thought would be good...
Glad you got approval for it!
When I got taps in my kitchen I just came home with a cabinet one day and said "this is happening" luckily that went well at least. I will be following when you build.
From what I can see your best bet would be your entertainment stand A4J's taps on the top wouldn't work for you however you could have them coming out the side of the entertainment stand?
You guys remind me everyday to do everything I want with homebrewing BEFORE i get married :mug:
I have my tap system in my Kitchen, I didnt do a full re-design of the kitchen I just pretty much bought an unfinished cabinet then finished it. My kitchen is horribly designed but sadly I don't have the money right now to redesign it (saving for a wedding). Personally I love having a bar...
I like your set up running but sadly I don't have a glycol system (as much as I would love one) and I am really trying to go on the cheap as much as I can. I am not to concerned about having a couple of feet of beer line being warm because I can just set my freezer down a degree or 2 more to...
Hey guys, I just got my keggerator up (converted chest freezer - Posted it in the show me your kegerator) and running but there is roughly 12 feet of beer line that won't be kept cool. I have a fan blowing the air up an 4 inch insulated tube with 4 beer lines running through it. Sadly I...
