Every CPVC manifold I have seen on this site has slits cut into it with a sawzall or jigsaw.

What I would like to know before I build my manifold is there a reason why everyone uses slits and not small holes?

My thought is that there is a fear of stuck sparges but I would think if there are enough holes and the maifold is upside down it wouldn't be a problem.

Any thoughts on this?

I just re-did my manifold, I was getting slower and slower on my sparges for some reason. I had slots, but i drilled 1/16" holes on my new one. The openings are quite a bit smaller than they were, so im hoping for better results, I have yet to test. As the hole size is way more uniform than slots, I expect good results.

i drilled 3/32 holes and put them facing down. never had a problem with stuck sparges
