Where do you guys get malt extract recipe kits? Finished my first batch today, and wanna have the next recipe ready to roll once my primary is free.

Thanks

Anything from Austin Home Brew is pretty good. They have a huge selection and the couple I have ordered from there have been good.

I've gotten a few True Brew's that have been passable, and a few NorthernBrewer kits that have been far better. Been just going with recipes since.

I've used brewers best kits a lot. Only because that's what I can get locally without having to pay for shipping and wait for it to get to me. All of the BB kits that i've made have turned out great. Brewers Best offers a pretty good selection of kits as well. The directions that come with em' are AWFUL though, don't use them. Go by the instrustions that are listed on the forums for extract brewing. :mug:

I have tried several Coopers kits (my pre-hopped extract kits of choice - so far) and 1 (blue Moon) clone partial mash from AHS.

I'd go and get Jamil's book "Brewing Classic Style". He has great proven recipes and you can buy the ingredients anywhere.

Anyone have any good recommendations for a Canadian source of extract? The duties at the boarder kill me when ordering anything from the US.

I'm an idiot, I thought you asked what kind of brew kits people used, not where they get them from. Sorry...:(

There is a MoreFlavor! store about a 15-minute drive away from me and they have dozens of extract, partial-mash, and all-grain kits. The yeast is sold separately, but they do list a recommended dry and liquid for each.

I'm a fan of the Brewers Best kits as they do not used hopped extract and are economically priced.

As far as where I've gotten MY Coopers kits..
Most I've gotten from makebeer.net (they're still running sales if you are interested! Stocked up on Light Malt Extract @$7.99/ea., Irish Stout @$12.99/ea. and an IPA @$12.99/ea.!) as well as some ingredients plus 1 full (PM) kit (Blue Moon clone) from AHS.
There are some other places I have been gawking for low Coopers prices.

I've tried kits from:
Midwest supplies
Austin Homebrew (AHS)
Both are great, AHS has a better selection, Midwest has better prices.

Recently, I ordered from Brewmaster's Warehouse and their service is GREAT! You should try one of their kits and post here about it.

Anybody have any opinions about Seven Bridges Brewing Co. ("All organic ingredients!")? I ordered from them, but have yet to taste the fruits of this labor. Based on this thread I might have a look at Midwest.

These are all great sites just got my AHS order in today, ordered from midwest a few times, and planning my next brew at Brewmaster's. Someone has to pump some money into the economy. I miss the GOP already...

What's "Brewmasters" website? Always looking for a new source of good recipe kits.

Depends on what you are brewing. Midwest Supplies has some good prices and a decent kit variety. AHS has more commercial beer kits. MoreBeer has some decent kits and if you spend more than $59 with them shipping is free.

It all depends on what you are looking to brew next.
