Any thoughts or pointers on this? would like to do it but I heard there are possible oxidation issues?

Not really.
You can fill on foam which will replace most O2, look at some commercial fillers.
Or you can go overboard and build a counter pressure bottle filler.
My filler
Thanks to kegs it is now a museums peace.
