Lots of wailing and teeth gnashing, for certain.

After mopping up the tears, I s'pose a trip to the packy for some good IPAs, a nice stout, and a Wheatie for the Spousal Unit.

Cheers! (Then, more tears ;))

Coors light or PBR. Randomly I will surprise myself and buy a Budweiser or Coors original.

Negra Modelo (like a nice Vienna Lager) and Goose Island Honkers Ale...I happen to like both and they tend to be readily available. I do not brew lagers out of impatience/laziness so I will like a good one every now and then.

Lately it's been Blue Moon. But usually it's whatever I randomly choose once I'm at the store.

Lake Monster empty rowboat
Fulton Sweet child of vine
Surly furious
Bent paddle IPA

New Glarus and Lakefront. In Wisconsin, you can find a huge variety of excellent New Glarus beers everywhere, even at the little roadside gas stations deep in the rural parts of the state. Lakefront is everywhere in Milwaukee.

Deschutes Mirror Pond or Fresh Squeezed.
Samuel Smith Taddy Porter occasionally.
After that I try to pick something I haven't tried before or a style that I have currently in the fermentor. I just had some really good beers from Crux.

Well, given that I have ~30 cases of homebrew at the moment, and since my 3rd batch I've always had a pipeline going, I've never run out since then. To the point where I've still got bottles from 2010 (granted deliberately aged).

If I did, I'd fall back on Coniston Bluebird Bitter, when I can get it (getting hard at the moment). Failing that, there's a few other English beers I love but can be equally tough to get, especially to get fresh. As far as reliably available and reliably fresh, Deschutes Black Butte Porter is one I buy fairly regularly now that I have regular access to it (and traded for it at least a few times before they started distro in this area).

I don't run out, but I typically have either beers that I think were a good deal (24 stone IPA variety pack was $25 at costco!), beers that I've never had, or beers that are inspiration for what I have planned next.

Let me put it this way. Drinking a Coniston right now, and when it's fresh (which this one is, it's hit or miss, and I had to get this 2 hours away), I would gladly forgo any other beer if this was my only option. There's a reason why I'm the #1 drinker of it on Untappd :mug:

I usually keep a few local beers (Madtree, Rhinegeist) in rotation. Two-Hearted finds its way into my fridge a lot too.

Fuller's ESB has always been a favourite of mine, but more recently Thornebridge's Jaipur or Oakham's Citra. Having said that, I've been on a bit of a malty binge and have been picking up Fursty Ferret by Dorset Ales or Wandle by The Sam Brooks Brewery. Tonight I'm passing a specialist Ale shop and have already decided to pick up a Raw by Moor brewery. It's quite special :)

Ska Brewing Modus Hoperandi, or O'Dell IPA.

I know, my life doesn't suck.

:mug:

My go to's (in order) are Dragoon IPA (local), Modus Hoperandi, and Firestone Walker Wookie Jack. Grew up in Durango CO and played soccer against the guys who started Ska. Great guys and great beer.

Staying true to the thread's title, if I'm not drinking homebrew my "go to" is going to be something cheap. It's not uncommon to find me putting back some PBR and Natty Boh. Hell even if I have homebrew sometimes I just like to throw a few those back. Occasionally I splurge and treat myself to some commercial craft brews - can't go wrong with just about any of Sierra Nevada, Heavy Seas, and Flying Dog's offerings.

Almost anything. I crave variety. Last night it was a glass of homebrew Wit, and then half a glass of Short's Tree IPA (Can't remember the exact name. Something juicy and made with spruce. Not bad, but it was late and I really didn't want to drink the whole thing. Main reason I love having a keg system is I can pour a 1/2 glass easily.

Also got some New Holland White Hatter, Oberon, and a few odds and ends.

My go to's (in order) are Dragoon IPA (local)

Left Tucson Jan 2015 to move to MD, and really miss Dragoon - lived just a few miles from there. They started up well, loved their dark session beer! My last beer there with my Dad, just before I moved, tried their first iteration of Lazarus...one of the best beers I've ever had!!!

Nice! I work literally across the street, and live a short 2 mile bike ride away. I remember when Eric and Tristan were part of the homebrew club and first started talking about opening a brewery. So glad they've been so successful. Eric was one of the most talented brewers in the club back in the day, and IMO he's only gotten better since going pro.

Lazarus was fantastic, but my favorite of theirs is Sarcosuchas (sp?). They recently did a quad aged in rum barrels that's pretty delicious as well. My BIL came down from MN right after Dragoon opened and tried their dark session beer mixed with locally roasted coffee and served on cask. He still talks about it being the best beer he's ever had.

Lived in the Sweetwater Ranch development - Up Silverbell to Goret, couple miles from there. Always liked the dirt roads around there for running. Aside from Dragoon, I really miss Tap and Bottle - another great place to go. Bought one of their metal growlers, always gets a comment when I get it filled around here. Several good farmhouse breweries in MD - like going to Hops and Vines in Sonoita.

I live on a dirt road off of Silverbell just N of Goret. We'd be neighbors if you hadn't left! Lol.

And yeah, Tap and Bottle is great. Loved it when they did the sour fest and 80% of the taps were sours and wild ales. There's a couple new places with similar beer selection and vibe, like Hermanos on 4th.

Pig's Ass Porter, from Harvest Moon Brewery in little, tiny Belt, Montana.

There is a place in my fridge for Miller Lite at all times. Yeungling and coors banquet make regular appearances as well.

On the craft beer front, there is nearly always SNPA/Torpedo or Dales Pale (if the store doesn't have SNPA in cans) in my fridge, and also some randomness just for sampling.

I'd take a growler to the filling station, and drink one there, then choose from the 100(s) on tap to take home.
