Does the hop total determine which yeast you might use,say if the hop count is high or low for the type of beer you are brewing? May be a dumb question,just wondering!

Some yeast strains are known to strip or mute hop flavor/aroma. Other strains emphasize hops. Then there's thiol varieties which encourage biotransformation.

For me, the answer is "no". For me, beer style /1/ is likely to be the primary influence on yeast selection, hop selection, and hop amounts.

/1/ I'm thinking of "beer style" in the general sense; and not limiting 'style' to a specific version of an organization's judging competition guidelines.
