So, just for snots and grogs I did a yeast wash on Safale-04, Fermentis's white bread yeast. I was wondering if anyone else has done so, and if they have, what were the results? I am just curious.
I will post PIC's of the yeast done and in storage and when I do the next brew with it, the result. Thanks

sure, you can do it. yeast is yeast...whether it started as dried or liquid form. it'll look the same washed.

few people bother washing inexpensive dry yeast strains though. $1.50 for S-04 is much cheaper than the $7.50 I pay for a vial or smack pack of liquid yeast.

I thought it might yield a more consistent result, if it were left in a liquid, or hydrated form.
