So I was proud and felt the need to show it off. Just bought a yeast starter kit from austin homebrew ($16). Got a sweet computer fan ($6). Computer fan screen ($1). And dc power adapter ($10). A quick easy wire job and bam, stir plate. Pretty pumped! So around 30 or so bucks depending on where you shop, not a bad way to increase the quality of your homebrew!

Well from my understandings, light does not affect yeast starters. The reason we keep beer dark is because of the hops. They turn skunkish when in light. Yeast should be able to handle light just fine. I hope that is the case. I hope someone chimes in on this if I am wrong!

Well I know it messes with the hops but I thought I heard something about yeast as well. Either way it looks cool as hell.
